Hello world!

Hello world!

At last! Finally we’ve got a website up and running so we can keep everyone up to date with our project to open a FabLab in Brighton – sorry it took so long. A few people have been in touch worried that our lack of contact (and information online) might have meant that the project had died, but I’m happy to report that it’s still going strong and we’ve got a couple of bits of news to share with you all.

Firstly, we’re running an event as part of the Digital Brighton Festival, called PreFab. It’s a series of workshops where you can learn some of the skills that you’ll hopefully use making projects in the lab when it opens. Have a look through the programme of events and sign up for any that take your fancy. There’s workshops covering everything from keeping inspired and generating creative ideas to building a chair based on an open source design, so there should be something to appeal to everyone.

We’re going to be at the second Brighton Mini Maker Faire this Saturday and if you’re there, we’d love you to come and say hello. We’ll be running a design competition and exhibiting some of the things you’ll be able to make at PreFab, but we always like to talk to people that are interested in the project and may want to become members when we open. Hopefully see you there.
